Performance indicators for agricultural innovation systems in the ACP region
Organised by: Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation (CTA)
Venue: Wageningen, The Netherlands
July 15 – 17, 2008
Experts have not arrived at consensus on several issues concerning agricultural innovation systems (AIS) and more specifically on AIS performance indicators and the mechanisms for monitoring and evaluating the contribution of actors to the system performance. There is need to agree on the indicators to judge the performance, and select and define the data needed and methods of collection, analysis and interpretation. This can only be arrived at by consultation involving experts and stakeholders from various disciplines and organisations. Consensus building allows for exchange of information and shared learning.
This workshop, organised by CTA at its headquarters in Wageningen, The Netherlands, 15-17 July 2008, was a step in this direction. It involved 22 experts from 11 African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) countries, France and The Netherlands. CTA plans to organise follow-up workshops and support case studies to develop the process.
