Terry Cook is a Research Fellow with the Open University’s Department of Engineering & Innovation, Faculty of Mathematics, Computing and Technology, and Innogen Research Associate. He is an international development expert with 25 years’ experience working in Sub Sahara Africa and in transitional economies of the Former Soviet Union.
Between 2013 and 2018 he was Key Expert (Renewables) for the European Commission’s Technical Assistance Facility for Sustainable Energy for All in East and Southern Africa supervising missions in 23 countries. Currently he is Quality Assurance Lead for evaluation of the UK Department for International Development East Africa Geothermal Energy Programme.
His newly published book with Professor David Elliott - “Renewable Energy from Europe to Africa”- published by Palgrave ( (https://www.palgrave.com/gb/book/9783319747866#) looks at the problems encountered when implementing sustainable energy in countries where there is little or no experience with renewables.
