Lynda Wight is a Fellow and Executive Director of TOPRA (The Organisation for Professionals in Regulatory Affairs), the international professional association for those involved in healthcare regulation. In this capacity she oversees all TOPRA’s activities, which include over 30 training courses and conferences, MSc and PhD programmes and a peer-reviewed journal.
Lynda obtained her degree in Biological Sciences at the University of Leicester, where she is now a member of the Standing Committee of the Alumni Association. Her MSc in Information Science from City University, London, specialising in medical information, led her into regulatory affairs at Merck Sharp and Dohme Ltd. She then helped to establish a clinical research and regulatory consultancy company, MCRC Ltd, and to found the training company, ‘Rostrum’. Following rapid growth and a company merger, Lynda became Executive Vice-President for Europe for IBRD-Rostrum Global responsible for all the business development, regulatory affairs, clinical research, data management, statistical and medical services conducted by the non-US division of the company.
Lynda is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine, where she is a member of Council for the Section of Pharmaceutical Medicine and Research. She also represents TOPRA at the Science Council. She is a Fellow and Board Director of the Institute of Association Management and has served as a member of the Steering Committee of Professional Associations Research Network (PARN).
She has over 40 publications to her name on various aspects of clinical research, regulatory affairs and the regulatory profession.
