Michele has been involved with innovation research and policy in different capacities over the last decade.
He is currently working as Assistant Professor in the Strategic Foresight and Innovation (SFI) program at the Faculty of Design of OCAD (Ontario College of Art and Design) University. Prior to that, he was Senior Research Associate at the Conference Board of Canada, which he joined in 2015 after having spent almost seven years in the UK. He has worked as a Senior Analyst at RAND Europe and as Research Fellow for the Innogen Institute. He as worked on innovation policy and the study of innovation systems in national, regional and sector-based contexts across a range of industries.
Prior to working at Innogen, he was an ESRC Research Fellow at Kingston Business School investigating skills and research policy in the UK and Ireland, and the management of knowledge workers in the pharmaceutical and IT sectors.
Before moving to the UK, Michele was a Senior Policy Advisor for the Ministry of Research and Innovation in Ontario, Canada, where he managed research funding programs targeting local universities and research institutes, as well as provided policy advice on various issues.
Michele has a PhD in Political Science from the University of Toronto, and believes that flights of fancy are an underrated mode of travel.
