Dr Shen is an Innogen Co-Investigator and Senior Lecturer in International and Chinese Business at the University of Edinburgh Business School.
Her current research is on the socio-technical analysis of biotechnology (for example, GM technology) and ICT (for example, intellectual property - IP - and standards) in China. It focuses on the issues of policy, governance and strategies. Previous research has ranged from telecommunication technologies, open source software, vaccine development, etc. focusing on technology transfer, IP and innovation institutional mechanism in China.
