Innogen event to explore the role of social sciences in innovation

22 August 2019

As part of the ESRC Festival of Social Science, the Innogen Institute is teaming up with the Roslin Institute and Centre for Synthetic and Systems Biology (SynthSys) to host a panel discussion on the regulation of emerging genetic technologies.

The event will take place on the 6th November at 50 George Square, 18:30 – 20:30. It is free and open to everyone.

Innogen co-directors Joyce Tait and Geoff Banda will be among the panellists discussing where there is most urgent need for government and regulatory action (and what this action should look like) to realize the opportunities arising from emerging scientific discoveries and innovative technologies.

Through hands-on activities and a Q&A session at the end participants will be encouraged to consider if/how to make the latest genetic technologies a reality.
