TARGETed advice on biotech innovation

Alessandro Rosiello and Michele Mastroeni visited Lithuanian policy makers to provide guidance on how to create and support a biotech industry for their TARGET project.

The TARGET project has produced a toolkit to help countries grow their biotech industries. It introduces new concepts to enable concrete, targeted policy making decisions that will support the development of a sustainable biotech innovation strategy.

The toolkit is currently being tested with policy makers across Europe. In the first of a series of European meetings, Innogen researchers met with the Lithuanian Vice-Minister of Education and Science and the Vice-Minister of Economy; representatives from Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd and manufacturing giant Fermentas (ThermoFisher Scientific); and prominent scientists including the directors of various research institutes.
