QUEST: Capturing Lessons for Interdisciplinarity

Wild Crop Relatives

Congratulations to Catherine Lyall and Ann Bruce who have been awarded £145,732 for a 12 month study of QUEST.

QUEST (Quantifying and Understanding the Earth SysTem) is one of the flagship programmes for Earth system science of the UK Natural Environment Research Council.  The study seeks to capture lessons for interdisciplinary research from QUEST and other comparable cross-council programmes and will run from 1 February 2010 until the end of January 2011.

The study is an opportunity to advance understanding on the nature of interdisciplinarity in the area of global environmental change research, whilst delivering practical benefits to the QUEST community and providing valuable guidance for other future initiatives.  It also reinforces Innogen's position as a centre for expertise in the conduct of interdisciplinary research at the interface between the social and natural sciences.
