EU Medicines Agencies Network Strategy to 2020 - Working together to improve health
This paper is the contribution on behalf of the Innogen Institute, University of Edinburgh, to the public consultation launched in March 2015 by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and the Heads of Medicines Agencies (HMA).
The consultation draft (available here) outlines joint key priorities for the network and a high-level strategy to achieve these.
The draft strategy focuses on areas where collaboration within the network can make a real difference to human and animal health in the EU over the five years to 2020. It builds on the EMA roadmap to 2015 and the HMA strategy document 2011-15.
The draft network strategy is arranged under four key themes focusing on:
- human health
- animal health and human health in relation to veterinary medicines
- optimising the operation of the network
- the global regulatory environment
